[Husband Arrested in 1992 Pierce County Cold Case] · KIRO 7 James Robert Randle, 68, was arrested at an Everett retirement facility and charged with first-degree murder for the 1992 death of his estranged wife, Janice Randle. Investigators report that new information provided by family members helped crack the three-decades-old cold case. Randle pleaded not guilty during his court appearance on Thursday and is currently being held on $1 million bail.
[One Dead in Tacoma Apartment Fire] · KING 5 Fire crews responded to a fatal blaze at the 1202 Pearl Apartments in Tacoma’s West End neighborhood on Friday. One individual was killed during the fire, and several other residents and their pets were forced to evacuate and have been displaced. The cause of the fire is now being investigated by Tacoma Fire and the Tacoma Police Department.
[Dozens of Dead Canines Wash Ashore in Skagit County] · The Seattle Times Authorities are actively investigating the disturbing discovery of at least 21 dead canines that have washed ashore on Guemes Island in Skagit County over the past week. First responders and investigators noted that some of the animals were discovered skinned, missing their front paws, and with twine wrapped around their necks.
[Stanwood to Reactivate License Plate Readers] · KOMO News The city of Stanwood has announced plans to reactivate its network of Flock Safety automated license plate reader cameras. The city had deactivated the cameras in May 2025 due to evolving legal requirements, but will turn them back on after Governor Bob Ferguson officially signed the Driver Privacy Act into law, adding statewide structure and regulation to the technology.
[Encampment Returns to South Lake Union Corner] · KOMO News Neighbors in South Lake Union are voicing concerns as a homeless encampment has repopulated at the corner of Mercer Street and Fairview Avenue North, a city-owned site near the I-5 on-ramp that Seattle had kept clear for more than two years. The specific location has historically seen issues with serious fires and violence, including a reported rape in 2022 prior to the city’s lock-down of the site.
